CATCH THE READING BUG! Registration
begins May 1st!
Come “Catch the Reading Bug” at this year’s summer
reading club. We will be investigating insects and
spiders of all kinds this year, as well as the animals
that eat them! MMMMM….Good eatin’! We’ll make candy bar
bugs and all kinds of bug crafts. You’ll also be
introduced to a live hissing cockroach, tarantula, and a
giant millipede when Paul McCormack comes to share his
experience with bugs. Get ready to get buggy about
books! Be sure to register your child early for the
events as it is first come first serve. We will allow
150 participants this year.
Tuesday, June 10th 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Kick-Off
Party - Parents are asked to attend. Some parents will
be chosen to participate for special prizes!
Tuesday, June 17th at 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. OR June
24th at 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Session I – Be the bug!
See bugs up-close with a microscope! Crafts and snack
included.
July 1st 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. OR 1:30 p.m. Session II
- Meet a live giant millipede, a hissing cockroach, and
more with the Bug Guy from Classroom Critters, Paul
McCormack. He’ll also bring feathered friends and
animals that eat the bugs for lunch! Snack included.
Mon. 7/7, Tues. 7/8, Wed. 7/9, OR Thurs. 7/10 at 12:00
p.m.- 12:30 p.m. Session III - Come have a buggy lunch
with Ms. Martie! Monday through Thursday we’ll be eating
lunch with Ms. Martie. Choose one day to bring your own
sack lunch with a food item shaped like a bug! Yummy
dessert and games included.
July 15th 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Awards Picnic-
Enchanting Entertainers go buggy over the summer reading
club! Awards and end of the program prizes will be given
out. A hot dog lunch will be provided for participants.
Permission slips are required by July 8th!
Ms. Martie is looking for teen volunteers to help
facilitate the summer reading club. Gain community
service hours by helping out! If you are interested,
please call the library at 419-644-2771. |
