The Metamora Area Historical Society

Founded in 2004, the Metamora Area Historical Society is a member of the Fulton County Historical Alliance.

Anyone interested in learning more about and/or helping to preserve the history of Metamora, Berkey and AI, Ohio, and the surrounding area is welcome to join. Programs of interest are held fequently.  

Historical Displays, both permanent and rotating, are located in the Evergreen Community Library and also at the Fulton County Museum & Welcome Center at 8848 State Route 108 north of Wauseon, Ohio, near the Fulton County Fairgrounds.

 

Mission Statement

The Metamora Area Historical Society (MAHS) is dedicated to the preservation of the history of the Metamora area, encompassing the original Metamora and Fulton ("Ai") school districts, which includes portions of Amboy, Fulton, and Richfield townships in Ohio, and also portions of Ogden and Riga townships in Michigan. The Society will collect and preserve architectural, cultural, and historic materials pertaining to the area, and will make its resources accessible to the public. MAHS will also promote interest in the heritage as well as the future development of Metamora and the surrounding area.

Membership dues are $10 per calendar year.
