Policies

Your Library Card  One free card is issued upon registration of your name, phone number, proof of current address, and a picture identification is presented. For children under 18, an adult must verify the information given for the library card. Card must be presented to borrow materials and access the internet. Card is invalidated if fines are on your account. Replacement fee is $2.00.

New Patron Registrations will be limited to 5 items for the first 30 days, with no audio, DVDs, or Inter-library loans.

FINES AND FEES  Your signature on the library card is a valid agreement to be responsible for all fines, damages, or loss of materials. Patron agrees to give immediate notice of a lost card or change in address. All fines are .10 cents per day per item from the due date. DVD fines are $1.00 per day per item. You are responsible for the fines that are incurred on your card.

DVDs  Borrowers must have a valid library card to check out DVDs. Parents or legal guardians are responsible for selections made by minors under the age of 18. Signed permission is kept on file.

Loan Period: 7 or 14 days with one renewal.

Four DVDs may be checked out per library card.

Late fees are $1.00 per day per item.      ($5.00 cap per item.)

If a DVD is lost or damaged through neglect, charges will be the replacement cost.  Viewing audience is at the discretion of the borrower. The library assumes no responsibility.

Movies may not be shown where a fee is charged or a donation received.

Evergreen Community Library Board and the staff are not responsible for any

damage to equipment as a result of the use of any media borrowed from the

library.

Books have a 28 day loan period. One 28 day renewal is allowed. Library materials may be renewed by phone.

Periodicals circulate for 14 days with no renewals. Current month issues may not be checked out.

Audio Books on CD circulate for 28 days, with one 28 day renewal allowed. A large collection of unabridged titles are available.

Large Print Books, located in a special collection, are available for the sight impaired.

All overdue items will have one Day of Grace before fines start accruing.

Reference books are marked with an “R” and may be used only in the library. These include encyclopedias, atlases, almanacs, and dictionaries.

LOST or DAMAGED ITEM POLICY: You are responsible for the replacement cost of any library material lost or damaged while charged to your card. Library privileges are invalidated until lost item is paid for in full. No refunds will be given after payment has been received.
